Their bold graphics and coordinating super soft “minky” plush fabrics are sure to please. Being machine washable makes them the perfect blanket to grab for the stroller, car seat or plane ride. Many of them have become “lovies” as babies have grown older.

About the Owners
Minnow was started by sisters-in-law, Kristin and Sarah. It began when Kristin was pregnant with her first child. Many of her friends family were also having babies at the same time. Being a born creator and able sewer, she decided to make a blanket for all of the new babies in her midst. The blankets were an instantaneous hit. After discussions with her sister-in-law, Sarah, the idea of a starting a business around the blankets began.

Kristin remains the sole creator and maker of all of all Minnowbaby items, with her 5 year old Finn and 2 year old Olivia being great helpers. She and her family are based in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Sarah, who is a
graphic designer, oversee the business aspect of the company, in between running around with her 6 year old and 2 year old out in the redwoods of Northern California.

Both still love making new mom's and babies happy with the beautiful and durable items they sell.

We are thrilled to be adding Local Author Lisa Sugarman's Book to Our Offerings!

We are thrilled to offer Lisa Sugarman's book to Marblehead.Works book offerings.

We expend massive amounts of energy in pursuit of perfection. If only we never made mistakes or hit any obstacles. If only. But then life would be static, unfulfilling, and really, really boring.

Marblehead Humorist, Lisa Sugarman, knows that life is a work in progress. She knows what we all suspect—life is at its best when it's fluid, unpredictable, and gloriously imperfect. And if this means life sometimes turns ugly and unpleasant, it only makes the good times that much sweeter.

Nationally syndicated opinion columnist and author of the weekly humor column It Is What It Is, Lisa embraces reality, not perfection. We're supposed to be imperfect. We're meant to screw up, make bad decisions, and lose our way. We can't control everything that life throws at us, but we can control how we react to it.

With the right attitude and a little guidance from Lisa, anyone can be happy and fulfilled most of the time. Her collection of funny, inspiring, and sometimes poignant columns reminds us that life is not a straight line, even on the best of days, and it's the twists in the road which make the journey so beautiful.

About the Author

Lisa Sugarman is the author of the Boston Globe Local Bestseller LIFE: It Is What It Is. She also writes the nationally syndicated humor column, It Is What It Is, which appears in over 400 GateHouse Media, Inc. newspapers from coast to coast. She's a regular contributor at Being a Mom.life and Active Family Magazine and is currently writing the first of four books in the How to Raise Perfectly Imperfect Kids (And be ok with it.) series for Familius Publishing in Sanger, CA.

Lisa lives and writes in Marblehead with her husband and two daughters.

Seraglio Necklace
offer exceptional pieces of jewelry, handmade in Marblehead by Joyce Mayer Clark.

bead is chosen with care and added one at a time.

If you're looking for a statement piece, you've come to the right place!

Artist Statement

I am a self-taught bead artist who specializes in bead embroidery and bead weaving; techniques that
Painted Desert
are distinct from each other but are often combined. Bead embroidery is done with needle and thread on a fabric ground while bead weaving uses only needle, thread, and beads. My primary medium is seed beads: tiny glass beads that come in a vast array of colors and finishes, as well as art glass, gemstones and other natural materials that provide me with an endless palette.

Painted Desert Earrings
I draw much of my inspiration from the world around me. Marblehead is a spectacularly beautiful town, and I am incredibly fortunate to live close to the ocean in such a stunning area. I am fascinated by the way that the colors and textures of the sea can change from dark and stormy to light and calm in a matter of moments. The shades of grey and vibrant autumn leaves floating in an asphalt puddle; the hues and textures in the discolored hull of a sailboat; and the brilliant colors and intricate shapes of garden flowers all inform my art.

My background in graphic design, illustration, and bookbinding brings depth and breadth to my work, and contributes knowledge of color, texture and composition to each piece. I am passionate about creating three dimensional wearable works of art, and love engineering a piece to be comfortable, functional, and beautiful. I am an artist member of the Marblehead Arts Association and my jewelry has won several awards, including Outstanding Work and Best of Show in the Marblehead Festival of Arts.

Each piece I make is a labor of love; unique and handcrafted with attention to detail and many hours of painstaking work that results in one-of-kind heirlooms. The details may be delicate, but the end result always makes a strong statement - whether worn with a pair of jeans or a formal gown.
